The Deschutes Watershed Work Group is made up of citizens, tribal & local governments, non-profits, and agencies working together to address water quality issues throughout the Deschutes Watershed.

What is the Deschutes Watershed?

The Deschutes Watershed is a basin that includes all of the land whose streams, wetlands, lakes, and ground water drain into the Deschutes River. The watershed spans over 170 square miles and is mostly within the Squaxin Island Tribe’s usual and accustomed lands and within Thurston County. The lands that drain to the Deschutes River have a variety of uses such as forestry, agriculture, recreation, and growing developed communities.
