Robin Buckingham joined the Thurston Conservation District as an Intern in fall 2013 and became a permanent Resource Specialist in January 2015.
Robin graduated from The Evergreen State College in 2012 with a BA in Agricultural Systems and Small Farm Management. His course work included soil science, nutrient management, and vegetable crop production planning as well as farm-scape ecology.
His responsibilities at the District include assisting landowners implement natural resource conservation practices on their properties and developing Natural Resource Conservation Plans.
Robin grew up in the shadow of Mt. Rainier on the Enumclaw Plateau where he developed a respect for the environment, value of functioning natural resource systems and a drive to help maintain the viability of local agriculture. In his down time, he enjoys skiing, hiking, and biking as well as gardening and cooking.
