Map of Thurston County Watersheds

South Sound GREEN works in the Eld Inlet, Totten Inlet, Budd-Deschutes and Henderson Inlet basins in the southern most reach of Puget Sound. These watersheds are diverse, ranging from forested rural areas to urbanized centers.  They include a range of mixed land use, including rural and farm land, residential areas, working forests, and urban centers. The streams winding through the watersheds are home to some of Puget Sound’s healthiest native chum salmon runs, and are popular fishing, rafting and swimming destinations.  All four watersheds drain directly into Puget Sound.

The Eld, Totten, Deschutes and Henderson Watersheds all have distinct properties and current issues threatening the health of the water and surrounding area, including loss of farmland and open space, increased impervious surfaces, fecal coliform bacteria contamination and more.  Please see the following watershed pages for more information about each unique basin.
