Thurston Conservation District is pleased to announce a unique opportunity to contribute to conservation and your community by serving on the Board of Supervisors! Supervisors are public officials who serve, uncompensated, for three year terms and are responsible for setting and maintaining overall district policies regarding the management and conservation of natural resources within the District. In 2021, Appointed Position 1 is up for appointment and an applicant will be chosen by the Washington State Conservation Commission.
Who can apply? An applicant must be a registered voter in Washington State, and may be required to own land or operate a farm. Applicants for appointed positions do not have to live within the district to apply.
Applications and supporting materials must be received by the WA State Conservation Commission no later than March 31, 2021. Appointments will be made at the Commission’s May 2021 meeting. To learn more, visit their website: https://www.scc.wa.gov/elections-and-appointments
