Local Solutions to Local Problems

Puget Sound
Thurston Conservation District has been addressing the needs of Puget Sound for many years.  That's because, all but one of our Thurston County watersheds drains to Puget Sound.

In light of the recent attention that been given to the health of Puget Sound, we're stepping up our efforts even more.  We have been providing more targeted programs and services to the residents of the Henderson, Nisqually, Eld, Totten, and Budd/Deschutes watersheds, to help lessen their negative impacts.  Please navigate about our website to learn more about the many programs we provide.

The Puget Sound Partnership is a state agency established in 2007 to lead efforts to protect and restore Puget Sound and its spectacular diversity of life, now and for future generations.   The Partnership recently created a long-term plan "2020 Action Agenda."  This Action Agenda identifies and prioritizes actions, names those responsible, identifies funding, tracks progress and report the results publicly.  TCD intends to be an active participant in this effort.
